In late 2009, The CARITAS Project formally launched a new international award program called: A Place to Flourish – The ‘Generative Space’ Award. This launch occurred at the annual Healthcare Facilities Symposium + Expo, where the first award was presented, in 2010. The pioneering work of the Leading by Design participants, who have completed case study accounts of the improvements that their work in Leading by Design has produced, will serve as the new benchmark in best-practice to challenge the global community to raise the bar toward this new paradigm in design of the environment.

In each subsequent year, the Symposium will serve as the platform for this award to be given and to demonstrate the next level of improvement that design of the environment can contribute to the overall quality of health, healthcare, and quality of life.

This award program is supported by a wide community of global partners that will enable industry-wide dissemination of the accomplishments of the award recipients. This new award program is the fourth project of The CARITAS Project. For additional information, visit www.aplacetoflourish.net
