Ms. Miller’s expertise combines real estate, interior architecture, urban development and senior living to bring vision and cohesion to complex projects. Miller’s background began as a partner with Cox Development (Medical Office Building) in East Tennessee and later Biltmore Development (Mixed Use) in North Carolina. Managing the planning, up-fit architecture and construction process for these design build developers inspired her founding of, The Vision Group, (www.visgrp.com) in 1992. She has represented the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), both with the state of Tennessee and the National ASID board in leadership positions, earning a Fellowship into the society in June of 2012.

In partnerships with marketing firms, architects, planners and management companies BJ’s expertise is in the delivery of human centered senior living facilities. Her work with the new Veteran’s Administration model of household design has enhanced her understanding of the transition occurring in care models and the product offering for the next generation of elders. Working with international focus groups, national speaking engagements and published articles, Miller and her team have consulted on numerous senior living projects over the past two decades.

Miller is a licensed real estate broker and CCIM designee founding Urban Redevelopment Alliance, LLC in 1999, a company involved in adaptive reuse development and urban design. Holding several public board appointments, including Public Building Authority (PBA) and Johnson City Development Authority (JCDA) honed her understanding of public/private partnerships. She brings a unique understanding of sustainable design and urban development to her project work.

Miller earned her Bachelor of Interior Design degree at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Beginning in 2007, she facilitated a lecture series based in Nashville for the university, chaired the Board of Advisors and developed a course on the Knoxville campus focused on Health and Wellness Environments -a required course for Gerontology students. Miller’s passion is bringing new models of health, wellness and economic value to our elder community through the engagement and vision of a multidisciplinary field of expertise.
